The Importance of Nose Breathing

Is your child a mouth breather or a nose breather?

If your child breathes mostly through the mouth, the tongue will not be resting in the roof of the mouth. This will lead to a small upper jaw set back in the skull. Every time!

Often the mouth breather will have an anterior open bite.

That is: When the back teeth are together and they can push the tongue out between the upper front teeth. This is because the tongue pushes or thrusts forwards on every swallow.
